ERG strengthens its ESG commitment
Genoa, 15 June 2022 – ERG has further consolidated its commitment to creating a just and inclusive energy transition. Group CEO Paolo Merli has signed the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP), a set of principles aimed at promoting gender equality in the labour market.
ERG has also entered the UN Global Compact, a network of over 16,000 companies from 161 countries around the world that promotes sustainable development values through ten principles relating to human rights, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.
By joining the WEP and the UN Global Compact, ERG is taking one more step forward towards fulfilling the 2022-2026 ESG Plan with the goal of creating an increasingly international and inclusive Group where diversity and multiculturalism contribute to maximising the individual characteristics and talents of each person in order to generate innovation.
MSCI, one of the world's leading ESG rating companies, has confirmed ERG's "AA" rating in the leader bracket.
Lastly, the Group was included in the TOP 10 of the "Integrated Governance Index 2022", the index that verifies the degree of integration of ESG factors in corporate strategies, placing ERG among the Italian best practices in terms of corporate governance.
These important recognitions confirm ERG commitment, which has placed sustainability at the core of its strategies and business model.
