ERG joins “Voglio fare il Manager” once again in 2025
In 2025, ERG enthusiastically took part once again in “Voglio fare il Manager”, the initiative by Manageritalia Liguria aimed at students from the University of Genoa. It’s a concrete opportunity for meaningful exchange, growth, and mutual inspiration between today’s managers and those of tomorrow.
This year, Chiara Bianchi and Marta Taccola had the chance to experience our company first-hand, working alongside Anna Cavallarin, Head of External Communication, and Giacomo Barbieri, Head of Performance Control Wind & Solar Generation, respectively.
Marta Taccola spent three days with the Performance Control team. What struck her most was the precision and care with which the plants are managed and performance is monitored—not only through structured systems but also via internally developed algorithms and tailored KPIs:
“During my time at ERG, I witnessed the company’s ongoing commitment to improving its operations. I was especially impressed by the dedication to building customized tools for performance analysis and operational optimization.”
Beyond tools and methodologies, Marta also had the opportunity to observe leadership in action:
“Giacomo shared a powerful insight with me: there’s no single formula for being a good manager. It’s essential to adapt your approach to the context and to people, to highlight achievements and view mistakes as opportunities for growth.”
Giacomo Barbieri also found value in the experience:
“Having a young aspiring manager by my side allowed me to reflect more clearly on many operational dynamics. Reviewing meetings and interactions afterward helped me make certain processes more explicit—things we often take for granted.”
Marta concluded her experience with a broader understanding of company life:
“What I take away is the importance of collaboration and human relationships in daily work. These are often overlooked, but they truly make the difference in both personal and professional growth.”
Chiara Bianchi joined the External Communication team, taking part in both operational and strategic activities:
“My time at ERG gave me a deeper appreciation of how central corporate communication is to a company’s strategic positioning. I joined internal meetings, explored the process of organizing an event, and observed the team’s daily work up close.”
She also explored internal development initiatives like the ERG Academy:
“I discovered the 2025 training plan and saw how the company genuinely invests in people’s growth through courses on leadership, project management, and soft skills.”
For Anna Cavallarin, the experience was a valuable opportunity for dialogue:
“Chiara was exploring a future in communication and asked many questions about our work. This allowed us to explain it more clearly—and reminded us of the importance of listening, sharing, and learning from each other to work well together.”
Chiara wrapped up her experience with a clear takeaway:
“Every communication activity contributes directly to the company’s growth. ERG has successfully strengthened its presence in ten countries—across Europe and the United States—thanks in part to a well-structured strategy that consistently conveys its mission, values, and goals.”
Once again, “Voglio fare il Manager” provided a meaningful connection between academia and the corporate world. A journey that allowed ERG to open its doors and highlight the true value of management—not just as a matter of responsibility, but as a continuous process of learning and relationship-building.
A chance for today’s managers to reflect on their role—and for those stepping into the workforce to discover what being a manager truly means.
Voglio fare il Manager! 2024 edition
This year, ERG once again participated in "Voglio fare il Manager," an initiative by Manageritalia Liguria aimed at young graduates and students from the University of Genoa, with the goal of promoting a managerial mindset.
For the 2024 edition, Dario della Scala and Ilaria Tucci shadowed Veronica Musumeci, Head of Back Office & Contract Management, and Marco Laudano, Head of Management Control, respectively. Through this experience, they had the opportunity to observe and get a taste of life at ERG, our values, and our Leadership model.
Here’s what Dario and Ilaria have to say:
"This experience allowed me to immerse myself in the inner workings of a rapidly growing company like ERG. I closely observed the daily operations and witnessed how various business functions collaborate to achieve common goals. I also learned how crucial it is to effectively manage relationships among team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of how a manager can positively influence business outcomes and employee well-being, balancing operational demands with human needs.
During my time at ERG, I discovered how committed the company is to tackling future challenges through innovation and sustainability. Before this experience, I wasn’t fully aware of the extent of ERG’s commitment to these areas. I learned that the company not only focuses on achieving its growth targets but does so by adopting sustainable practices aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting technological innovation. I also saw how ERG balances its growth ambitions with a consistent focus on employee well-being, creating a workplace that values innovation and sustainability." [Dario della Scala]
"This experience enriched me in many ways. I had the chance to observe a manager’s work up close, gaining insight into the daily challenges and strategic decisions they face. I learned the importance of time management, planning, and the ability to solve problems effectively. I saw how leadership is expressed not only through directives but also through listening and supporting team members. The manager I shadowed, Marco Laudano, was incredibly approachable: his openness made me feel welcomed and valued, and it helped me understand the importance of clear and transparent communication, which is essential for building strong relationships and a climate of mutual trust.
Before this experience, I primarily knew ERG as a renewable energy company. During my time there, I discovered ERG's strong commitment to sustainable innovation, which is embedded in the company’s culture. ERG doesn’t just produce renewable energy; it continuously invests in new technologies and innovative projects. It was almost surprising to see how, despite its expansion, ERG maintains a close-knit and personal work environment, where every individual is valued. The company’s attention to its employees helps create a motivating workplace, demonstrating how an inclusive corporate culture can truly make a difference." [Ilaria Tucci]
