Vigeo affirms ERG's Advanced rating
Genoa, 6 July 2020 – Vigeo Eiris, one of the leading international ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) rating agencies, has affirmed ERG S.p.A.'s Advanced rating, the highest in its scale of ratings, acknowledging the company's strong ESG commitment and the value of its social responsibility policy.
This affirmation reflects above all ERG's fight against climate change - at the core of its business strategy - and the leading role played in the energy transition process, its governance, its risk analysis system, as well as several elements related to the area of Human Capital.
The affirmation of this rating is a further acknowledgement of the value of the strategy adopted by the company, which has always deemed sustainability to be a central element of its business model, and comes in addition to other major recognitions achieved.
ERG was recently included in the SE European Utilities Index, issued by Standard Ethics, which groups the top 30 European utilities committed to sustainability and energy transition. The company also ranked 35th place in the Corporate Knights Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index and was assigned an AA rating from MSCI, thanks to the major steps achieved in the path towards decarbonisation.
ERG's presence was also confirmed for the third consecutive year in the Ethibel Excellence Investment Register, which selects companies whose CSR performance exceeds the respective sector average, together with its inclusion in the Ethibel Pioneer Register, which lists the leading ESG companies within each industry.
Lastly, ERG is also part of CDP – Climate Change with a B rating and is included in the ECPI "Global Clean Energy" index, comprising the 40 companies with the highest ESG ratings, active in the production and trading of energy from renewable sources.
