Stipulati tre PPA tra ERG e Gruppo FS per complessivi 1,2 TWh di energia
Genoa, 4 September 2025 - ERG, a leading independent power producer of renewable energy, announces that it has signed, through its subsidiary ERG Power Generation S.p.A., three Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with FS Group, via its subsidiary RFI, for the total supply of 1.2 TWh of renewable energy (185 GWh per year) starting from 1 October.
The signing of the agreements follows ERG's recent award of three of the five lots put up for auction by RFI as part of the first public tender in Italy for the procurement of electricity and Guarantees of Origin through PPA. It also represents another step in a broader strategy that will see FS Group’s energy activities centralized within FS Energy, with the aim of making energy procurement more sustainable and cost-effective and accelerating the country’s decarbonisation by supporting the energy transition.
Specifically, the first contract provides for a duration of 10 years and the supply of 55 GWh/year, while the other two have a duration of 5 years and a supply of 60 GWh/year and 70 GWh/year, respectively. The energy will be provided by some of the ERG's wind farms in Italy not subject to incentivizing systems.
Paolo Merli, Chief Executive Officer of ERG, commented: "Thanks to this significant agreement with the largest electricity consumer in Italy and one of the main publicly controlled groups, ERG confirms its leadership in the PPA market, fundamental market instruments for stabilizing in a context of particularly volatile prices. These long-term agreements have enabled us to secure over 3.7 TWh per year of green energy, both from new assets and already operating plants, corresponding to around 40% of full year production"
