Scotland: Sandy Knowe wind farm extension completed

Genoa, 16 December 2022 - After commissioning the first 50 MW of the Sandy Knowe wind farm in Dumfries & Galloway in the south of Scotland in October 2022 (see the press release of 13 October 2022), we are pleased to announce the start of the wind farm's extension for an additional 36 MW.

The wind farm, developed and built in-house, now has a total installed capacity of 86.4 MW, which will provide an annual output of more than 250 GWh, equivalent to the needs of about 55,000 households, while reducing CO2 emissions by 106 KT every year.

Paolo Merli, ERG Chief Executive Officer, commented: “With the energisation of the Sandy Knowe wind farm, the Group has brought its current installed capacity in the United Kingdom to over 155 MW, in line with the objectives of our 2022-2026 Business Plan and ahead of schedule.”
