ERG operates in 9 countries across Europe: this international breath gives us the chance to make clean energy production more efficient, thus accelerating the energy transition process, drawing decarbonization targets closer and closer. How? We have discussed it with Dhwanit Patel, Strategic Planning & Technological Development Specialist, that entered our Group this year.

I’m part of a new department in ERG, called the ‘global’ department, since it connects our operation centers located all over the continent. One of our main tasks is to predict, detect and solve problems that might occur on our assets & share these solutions with the other countries operation centers where we have the same kind of assets. By doing so, we can avoid any further problems, making our wind farms or solar parks produce more clean energy for the communities”.

This demonstrates the strength of connections: collecting the best practices and sharing the solutions, we can better help the Countries’ transition towards a sustainable model. Furthermore, it shows the importance to be an international company. Dhwanit is based in the Hamburg ERG’s operation center, in Germany, the city that first hosted him when he came in Europe, and where he graduated:

“In India, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; then subsequently in Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, I achieved the master’s degree in Renewable Energy Systems. The course was an amalgamation of technology and engineering, data and process simulation, business and management skills: it gave me the technical foundation to boost my professional career”.

After few years spent working in the sector, finally in 2022 Dhwanit got an inquiry on LinkedIn from ERG recruiters:

“They were interested in a professional profile like mine: after telling me their requirements and the skills required for the job, they told me about their industrial transformation history from oil to green energy production. I was very amazed by this transition history and eager to start with ERG. Furthermore, the whole Human Resources Staff was really kind and helpful with me, and I could start working for the Group from May 2022. Not only the HR Staff, but all the colleagues I am working with were supportive in getting me on board during my initial weeks in ERG”.

If the strength of connections makes Dhwanit’s job pivotal in the European energy transition process, the good quality of them makes him recommend working in ERG:

ERG’s history surely motivated me to work for the Group. Nonetheless, what really makes me happy being in here is the inclusive and exciting work environment: ERG is a great company and its growing fast at an international level, gathering high-experienced professionals from all over the world; furthermore, now more than ever renewable operators are central in our economies, having the key role in tackling climate change and most importantly in guaranteeing energy security for our communities. Last but not least, here you can find invaluable support from the colleagues, and a far-sighted management team”.
