ERG tops Corporate Knights’ “Global 100” ranking. The Group’s EVP Alessandro Garrone awarded at the World Economic Forum in Davos

Genoa, 21 January 2026 - The ERG Group has ranked at the top of the 2026 global “Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World” of Corporate Knights, which identifies and rewards the world’s 100 most sustainable companies.

ERG received the award at the World Economic Forum in Davos during an event where the results of the analysis were presented. This year, the assessment evaluated and compared more than 8.000 listed companies and was attended by representatives of many of the companies included in the “Global 100” ranking, together with representatives of governments and institutions.

Companies were assessed using a new methodology based on three criteria: sustainable investments, sustainable revenues, and the Sustainable Revenue Momentum Score (SRMS), an indicator measuring the rate of growth of a company’s sustainable revenues between 2022 and 2024.

Among the reasons for the recognition awarded to ERG (which ranked 18th in 2025) is its industrial transformation from an oil company into a fully renewable energy company. Through this process, the Group has achieved growth both in terms of installed capacity and wind and solar generation, while completing its exit from fossil fuels. ERG also achieved overall leadership in the ranking by reaching 100% sustainable revenues and investments, as well as for its sustainability strategy, which is also linked to the company’s remuneration policy.

ERG’s Executive Vice Chairman, Alessandro Garrone, commented: “We are truly proud of this impressive recognition, an achievement that places us among the world’s most sustainable companies thanks to our commitment to decarbonisation and our ESG strategy. For ERG, sustainability is a conscious and concrete choice, integrated into all business processes and aimed at creating long-term value for the environment, people, communities and future generations.”
