ERG keeps growing in Italy. Roccapalumba 47 MW greenfield farm started up in Sicily
Genoa, 23 February 2024 – The growth of ERG's renewable portfolio in Italy continues, with the company announcing today that it has completed the construction and started the power-up of the Roccapalumba wind farm in the province of Palermo.
The plant internally developed and constructed by the Group, comprises thirteen 3.6 MW Vestas V117 turbines for a total installed capacity of 47 MW and an estimated annual production of approximately 100 GWh.
The output of the Roccapalumba wind farm will be exploited to the fullest through the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with Google for the overall providing for the supply of renewable energy and guarantees of origin produced by the new plant. (See press release of 1.02.2024).
Paolo Merli, CEO of ERG, commented: “The start-up of the Roccapalumba wind farm gives further contribution to the growth of ERG's renewable portfolio through a greenfield site in Italy. Revenues of the entire production will be secured through a pay-as-produced twenty-year long PPA with a primary counterpart, particularly relevant in a highly volatile price scenario.”
