Giuseppe Consentino at the fifth edition of the Forum Quale Energia
"The increase in energy production from renewable sources constitutes a fundamental step towards achieving the European decarbonization goals by 2030. Sicily stands out for its concrete commitment to the development of Renewable Energy Sources (FER), positioning itself as one of the leading regions in the national energy transition process".
Giuseppe Consentino, Head of National Relations ERG, participated today in the fifth edition of the Forum Quale Energia, organized as part of the Sicilia Carbon Free project. He spoke during the panel on “Decarbonization: only a necessity or a great opportunity?” Alongside him was the Energy Assessor of the Sicilian Region, Dep. Di Mauro.
In Sicily, ERG is engaged in the development of new wind and solar plants, as well as the enhancement of existing ones through repowering operations, of which the Group is a pioneer and leader in Italy. These activities increase energy generation by doubling capacity and tripling production while halving the number of wind turbines. This approach allows for the generation of more renewable energy without occupying new land.
The investments and projects we are implementing in the region represent a significant opportunity not only to enhance renewable energy capacity in the area but also to ensure lasting and sustainable economic growth for local communities.
