Qualifications: Basic degree in Mechanical Engineering, about to graduate with a Master in Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Aeronautics, specialising in Energy and Thermal Plant Engineering
Hi… What's your educational background? How did you come to join ERG? I have been studying for a Master in Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Aeronautics, specialising in Energy and Thermal Plant Engineering, at the University of Genoa. In May 2019, I began an internship at ERG (concluded in September) for my thesis entitled "Study of productability and preliminary plant engineering of a wind farm".
What did you do? I worked with the Feasibility Engineering Team, following the design for the wind farm in Szydlowo, Poland. My daily work consisted in getting information and material, and sharing it with my tutor, Matteo, to develop wind data analysis. It was basically an activity that gave me an overall and detailed view of how a wind farm is built.
What did you take from this experience?
It was definitely an experience that enabled me to grow: it isn't easy to go from university into the world of employment! My time with ERG taught me how to work as part of a team, how the job world works and company goals are achieved.
What aspects did you like most?
I liked not only being part of a team, but above all being part of that particular group! And then… I felt appreciated and this made me want to give one hundred percent! From a practical viewpoint I really understood what the field of engineering is like; starting from the beginning, from process and data analysis, right down to what is real engineering and design.
