ERG one of the best companies for its Employer Branding communication
The 2021 edition, - on-line - saw us as main players involved in a remote interview: Marzia Bonifacio and Denise Bugna for the Talent Management and Compensation area and Anna Cavallarin and Elena Barberis for the Media Relations & Digital Channels area talked about the ERG experience and our communication strategy, particularly on social networks: for some years now the work of the interdepartmental team for employer branding is reaping excellent results!
As regards the specific ranking on social networks, in the Italian edition we gained 6 places, moving up from 12th place to sixth! In the rankings for the Careers website, our area "Work for ERG" was in 3rd place, right behind Ferrovie dello Stato (first place) and Hera Group (second place).
When it came to the general ranking, the podium remained the same, while we gained one place since the previous edition! The top 10 were Procter & Gamble in fourth place, Roche in fifth, followed by Crédit Agricole, Edison, ENI, ABB and Lidl. During the event there were lots of company testimonies and much more, such as the growing importance of creating a consistent narrative using websites and social networks, but above all of talking genuinely about company culture, values, approach to D&I themes and more generally, to sustainability.
Generation Z in particular wants to play an active part in change and have a positive impact on the planet and on society! One's choice of company and colleagues is fundamental if you want to take part in the construction of a greener, fairer and more inclusive world and future.

Importanti riconoscimenti per il nostro Procurement
In 2020, for the third year running, our Procurement department took to the podium for two prestigious national competitions dedicated to the procurement world.
At the Excellence Award by Adaci, a national network which has been around for over 50 years, for those working in Procurement, Supply Management, Materials Management, Logistics and Facility Management, ERG took first place in the "Value Chain Collaboration" (Sustainability) category with its "Sustainable Procurement" project.
The board, made up of a jury of professors and top level professionals in the sector, wanted to reward the continuity between the business choices and the activities of Procurement, in a programme of constant improvement in terms of sustainability.
The Procurement Awards is the contest dedicated to the entire world of procurement and is an opportunity for participants to give voice to their experiences and make their mark on procurement culture. The Scientific Committee that judges the entries is made up of lecturers from Politecnico di Milano and by Chief Procurement Officers from leading national and international companies.
ERG competed in two categories: "Ethical and Sustainable Procurement", with its Sustainable Procurement project, and "Procurement in Interfunctional Teams ", with the Plastic Free project, taking second place in both , next to and sometimes ahead of extremely high-standing and large companies.
Both projects valorised the works of all the ERG departments that in some way contributed to achieving the goal and once again strengthened the Group's "green" image, which was so appreciated by all those with whom we have the chance to meet in these environments.
Online talent communication: ERG confirmed among Italy's leaders and best climber in the Potentialpark European rankings
This annual appointment is an opportunity for the HR and Communications Teams to discover Online Communication trends, share best practices and monitor the career-related performances of corporate websites, social networks, mobile responsiveness and the application system.
During the conference, ERG was highlighted as a "Success Story" and, interviewed by Federico Consolini of Potentialpark, Marzia Bonifacio, Head of Talent Management and Compensation, described our experience with regard to the definition of the ERG Employer Value Proposition, the international positioning we are giving our channels and the working method of the cross-functional team dedicated to employer branding.
For the 2020 edition ERG was named "Best Climber" in the overall European rankings, rising from 141st in 2019 to 21st, and came 4th in the general Italian rankings behind Ferrovie dello Stato, L'Oreal and Hera Group.
As confirmed by the Lundquist analysis, the ERG "Careers" section is a benchmark model on the Italian market, coming in 3rd place behind Ferrovie dello Stato and Hera.
The rankings, which include leading Employer Branding companies, are determined on the basis of an audit of the channels and interactions performed during the autumn and thanks to the feedback of potential candidates between 20 and 28 years of age. The criteria vary each year on the basis of emerging trends.

On line Talent Communication 2019
The "Careers" section of our corporate website came second in the "Career website" rankings and sixteenth in the "overall" rankings.
As regards the European edition, we came 43rd out of 150 companies. These results confirm the findings of the Webranking 2018-2019 analysis in which ERG featured among the Italian businesses most attentive to the Careers sections of their websites.
Potentialpark is a Swedish company which for 17 years has published a ranking on the effectiveness of online employer branding communications, focusing primarily on the candidate experience.

ERG's Corporate & Legal Affairs office is named Legal Office of the Year for the Energy Sector for the second consecutive year
The other finalists short-listed for the award were Acsm-Agam, Asja Ambiente Italia, Axpo Italia, Edison and Italgas. The Top Legal Corporate Counsel Awards highlight the work of company departments to further the success and growth of the business and celebrate work carried out by teams and individuals. The awards ceremony of the seventh edition of the prestigious event took place on 11 July as part of a gala dinner held against the splendid backdrop of Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan.
The award was presented to the ERG team in recognition of the following achievement: "In the context of supporting the company's definitive departure from the oil sector, the management successfully acquired ForVei, the ninth largest solar operator in Italy. This operation involved considerable technical difficulties both in terms of the size and structure of the funding required".
"It is a recognition of the work carried out by our team and one which, of course, we are all proud of," commented Andrea Navarra, General Counsel of ERG, "particularly because repeating last year's success to win a second time is very difficult. However small, we see this as a sign that the direction we are pursuing through our work is the right one".

ERG on the podium for online Sustainability Communications
The subject of the assessment is the content of the communications and the ability of the companies to engage via their Italian-language websites and the Twitter and Facebook channels. The analysis is "rooted in the real requirements of stakeholders" in terms of communication and "evaluates the ability to convey a concrete, structured and credible commitment to sustainability."
ERG was one of the 20 virtuous companies identified by the study and claimed a podium finish as part of the "Bronze Class" category together with ENEL, Autogrill, Luxottica, Intesa San Paolo, Mondadori, Moncler, Italgas, Sisal, CNH Industrial and STMicroelectronics. ENI and SNAM made up the "Gold Class" while the businesses in the "Silver Class" were A2A, Hera Group, Terna, Generali, Prysmian and TIM.
Corporate Knights Global 100 Index - ERG ranks 16th with top position among Italian companies
The selection considered publicly-listed companies from all over the world with gross revenues of at least 1 billion US$, evaluated preliminarily based on four screens (sustainability reporting, financial soundness, category of products sold and financial sanctions incurred) and, subsequently, on an additional 21 indicators, specific to each industry, pertaining to the management of natural resources, employee management, clean revenues and supplier performance.

ERG wins first prize for "Legal Department of the year-Energy"
The awards ceremony - which celebrated the excellence of Italian in-house legal departments - was held on Thursday 12 July at Palazzo del Ghiaccio, Milan, and attended by around 550 professionals representing 130 prestigious companies from the financial, industrial and services sectors.
The finalists were assessed by a technical committee of authoritative general counsels and executive managers from the national business and financial panorama.

" 2018 On line Talent Communication"
The Italian version took account of 50 Italian companies, assessed according to 317 criteria. As regards the "individual" categories, we came first as regards the "mobile experience" (an area of growing importance considering internet connections mainly take place through smartphones and tablets these days), second in the "career website" category (behind Ferrovie dello Stato), ninth in "applying on line" and 19th as regards social media.
In the 2018 European rankings, which looked at 134 companies, the "Careers" section of our website www.erg.eu was ranked 8th best "Career Website". Allianz, thyssenkrupp and Michelin occupied the top 3 places.
Compared with the 2017 rankings we jumped 12 positions, entering the Top 10 of the best corporate websites dedicated to recruitment at European level. In the overall standings we ranked 29th (+10 places compared with last year).
The "Careers Websites" ranking is based on the evaluations of a jury of young 20-28 year-olds that reward company websites which, because of the suitability of their content, are most successful at attracting and informing potential candidates.

Webranking Italy 2017: ERG in seventh place!
The sixteenth Italian edition of Webranking Italy, the main European study on the quality of online corporate communications produced by Lundquist in association with Comprend, examined 112 listed companies this year.
The aim of the analysis is to promote "the digital culture in companies, helping them understand how to improve their communications so they can meet the needs of their stakeholders".
The companies that climbed the podium were SNAM (1st with 94.2 points), ENI (2nd with 92.4) and the Hera Group (3rd with 91.5). The average score of Italian companies was 39.1 points.

ERG climbs the CDP rankings of leading companies in the area of virtuous environmental behaviour
It is an important acknowledgement of the actions and strategies ERG has adopted to combat climate change, as well as its transparency in communicating them. This result also confirms the company's ongoing commitment to a sustainable development model that combines economic performances with a reduction in CO2 emissions.
In fact, ERG's positioning as a green company, a leading producer of electricity from renewable sources, enables it to actively contribute to the gradual decarbonisation of the economy in line with the results of the COP 21, ratified by the Paris Agreement, which identifies the development of renewable energies as key for combating climate change. Last year CDP, in association with Borsa Italiana, had awarded ERG the Best Newcomer Italy prize for 2016 with an entry evaluation of "B" in its rankings.

The award was presented at the 2017 SAP Forum to representatives of the team that oversaw the development and application of the management programme.
Thanks to the use of SAP Ariba, ERG has strengthened its partnerships with its suppliers and simplified the procurement process, improving the management of the entire system as well as making it more reliable.

ERG first place in Italy for its Career Website!
Potentialpark is the Swedish company specialised in Employer Branding targeted at young talent which every year publishes its online communication rankings (Career website, mobile interaction with candidates, ATS -application tracking system- and Social Media). The 81 companies were assessed according to 319 criteria by 8279 young Italian talents. The "Careers" section was ranked number one in the "Career Website Italy" category for 2017.
We came 3rd in terms of mobile interaction with candidates (8 positions higher compared with 2016), 8th in the ranking relating to the application tracking system (+30 positions vs. 2016) and 64th in the rankings relating to the presence and use of Social Media.
These are results of which we can be very proud, the fruit of the collaboration between Human Capital, Communication and the many colleagues that described their training, job rotation and development experiences, setting ERG apart from the other participating companies.

ERG wins 2016 Financial Report Oscar for the "Companies and Large Enterprises" category
The motivations allowing ERG to obtain this prestigious recognition included the following: "the report on operations comprehensively illustrates the transformation from industrial operator in the energy sector to independent producer of electricity generated above all using renewable energy sources. Significant events that occurred during the year are clearly described, alongside a chapter dedicated to risks. There is a clear explanation of the current Group structure. The Sustainability Report provides an in-depth account not only of economic responsibility but also environmental and social responsibility, also calling attention to appropriate performance data and indicators, including those envisaged by GRI G4 guidelines."
The award represents further confirmation for the Group of the effectiveness of the reporting model adopted in recent years as regards both the Annual Financial Report and the Sustainability Report, and reflects the commitment to consolidation of integrated risk management, ensuring successful business effectiveness.
The Chairman Edoardo Garrone commented: "This award constitutes a major recognition of the business transformation process undertaken by ERG in recent years which, due to a continued investment in growth, has today taken it to become a leading operator in the renewable energy sector and to reach top position in Italian wind power. ERG enters the top ten of Webranking Italy!
The fifteenth Italian edition of Webranking Italy, the main European study on the quality of corporate online communications, produced by Lundquist in association with Comprend, examined 70 listed companies this year. This analysis "promotes the digital culture in companies and helps them understand how to improve their communications so they can meet the needs of their stakeholders".
ERG "Best Newcomer Italy" in the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) for strategies to combat climate change
In fact, in June 2016 we voluntarily participated in the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) responding to the "Climate Change" questionnaire.
This enabled us to compare our strategy and climate change governance with independent international standards. Thanks to the contribution of many of the Group's departments, information, policies, quantitative and qualitative data were collected and then inserted in an online report. The data were then evaluated by an independent global "scorer" according to a proprietary methodology.
CDP is an international no-profit organisation that provides businesses, governments and investors with the only global environmental reporting system, developed on the basis of information on the impact of the activities of over 4500 companies in 80 countries. Founded in 2000 in London, where it is headquartered, today CDP is present in 11 countries. CDP provides access to the most complete global body of information on corporate initiatives in the area of "Climate Change", the "Use of Water" and "Deforestation"; it works with over 800 institutional investors (that manage over 100 trillion dollars in assets) to help them identify the risk related to their investment portfolios; some of these are also ERG shareholders.

ERG among the top 20 Italian Online Talent Communication companies
Online communication (careers website, mobile interaction with candidates, application tracking systems and social media) was rated by 5,023 young Italian talents based on 347 criteria.
The classification, which saw Accenture win the top spot, placed ERG in 14th position (up 65 on the 2014 ranking). We're very proud of this result, which is thanks to cooperation between Human Capital and Communication, and a number of colleagues who have shared their training, job rotation and growth experiences making ERG stand out from among the other companies that participated.
