ERG #FuturoSostenibile

ERG #FuturoSostenibile

Climate Change: a sustainable approach to development

Climate Change: a sustainable approach to development

At the event "Climate Change: a sustainable approach to development" that we organized at the headquarters of Civita in Rome on July 6, we presented the 2015 edition of our Sustainability Report. After ERG Group's Chairman, Edoardo Garrone, introduced the event, Mario Tozzi, a geologist and science writer, gave his keynote speech, dedicated precisely to the issues of climate change.

Columnist Enrico Cisnetto moderated  the round table discussion with Luca Bettonte, CEO of the ERG Group, Walter Ganapini, Director General of ARPA Umbria, Mario Molteni, Professor of Business Economics at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan and Scientific Director of CSR Manager Network Italy, Rossella Muroni, President of Legambiente and Edo Ronchi, President of the Foundation for Sustainable Development.

The conclusions were drawn by Ermete Realacci, President of the Commission for Environment, Land and Public Works of the Chamber of Deputies.

We followed the event with our live tweeting and a live Periscope broadcast on our @ergnow Twitter channel.

"360 Degrees Sustainable Wind Power" at CSR_IS

Again this year, ERG attended the CSR IS event - Salone dell'Innovazione e della Sostenibilità (Innovation and Sustainability Fair), which was held at the Bocconi University in Milan in Via Roentgen, on 6 and 7 October. During the "360 Degrees Sustainable Wind Power" event, we explained how ERG Renew has grown over the past years, interpreting the wind energy business its own way: not as a mere "financial manager" of assets, but as a structured industry stakeholder, that strives to achieve maximum efficiency of its wind farms and that is capable of making the in-sourcing of its operation & maintenance activities, a key to success.

We also talked about our relationship with the communities where we work and the "Go with the Wind!" environmental education project: an initiative to educate "Future generations" on environmental and energy issues.

Speakers included Stefano Pogutz, Bocconi University Professor, Luca Bragoli, Head of Institutional Relations of the ERG Group, Filippo Solci, Head of Business Operations Italy of ERG Renew, Andrea Gaspari, Business Operation - Head of Technology of ERG Renew, Massimo Bonanno, Forestry Expert, and Daniela Bartoli, Regulatory Affairs of ERG Renew.

The ERG Sustainability Tree @ EXPO 2015

The ERG Sustainability Tree @ EXPO 2015
No, we aren't talking about the Tree of Life, symbol of the Milan EXPO, but "our tree" which has taken to the road. On 29 May 2015, as hosts of Intesa Sanpaolo at its "The Waterstone" pavilion, we organised the "Communicating Sustainability" event.

Lucia Bormida, Chief Public Affairs & Communication at ERG, opened the event by presenting the Group, and was followed by Franco Amelio (partner at Deloitte) who gave a talk on the theme of reporting. James Osborne (Head of Sustainability Strategies and Content at Lundquist) then moderated an interesting round table discussion entitled "Implementing and communicating sustainability", which involved Rossella Sobrero (Chairman and co-founder of Koinètica, lecturer at the University of Milan and Cattolica University of Milan), Silvia Bruzzi (Associate Professor of Economics and Business Management at the University of Genoa), Silvio De Girolamo (Chief Audit Executive & Sustainability of the Autogrill Group) and Luca Testoni (journalist and co-founder of ETicaNews).

The talks provided plenty of interesting food for thought, also leading to a lively discussion with the audience.
